DAGMARA RUDKIN

Dagmara Rudkin was born and brought up in Poland, so Roman Catholic/European imagery heavily influences her work. Dagmara’s paintings try to capture the mood of the indefinable transition between the majestic and melancholic, sleep and death, childhood and womanhood. Her paintings are made up of layers of half-pronounced figures, shimmering colours, ugly scratched surfaces covered with golden leaf. They are the contemplation and a celebration of the rites of passage told by European mythology.
